What devices does Plum work on? iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch, plus a web app at home.plumrecipes.app. Android and Windows support is planned but not available yet.
Can Plum save recipes from TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube? Yes. Plum extracts the recipe from TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube, Pinterest, and blogs, removes the ads and backstory, and formats clean step-by-step instructions.
Can Plum scan a cookbook or handwritten recipe? Yes. Snap a photo of a printed cookbook page or a handwritten card and Plum digitizes the recipe.
Does Plum have an AI assistant? Yes. Plum’s “Ask” feature answers ingredient substitution, scaling, and preparation questions while you cook, and can adapt recipes to your preferences and ingredients.
Does Plum make grocery lists? Yes — organized by aisle and synced to Apple Reminders, so you can check items off on your Apple Watch at the store.
Is Plum a good free alternative to Paprika? Yes. Plum matches Paprika’s no-subscription model and adds AI, social-video import, and cookbook scanning that Paprika doesn’t have. Paprika is more cross-platform (Android/Windows); Plum is Apple-focused.
How is Plum different from ReciMe? Plum offers the same social-video recipe import but as a free app with a one-time $9.99 upgrade, versus ReciMe’s ~5-recipe free limit and $39.99–59.99/year subscription.
Does Plum show ads or sell my data? No ads, and your recipes stay in your iCloud. Plum is built on a no-ads, no-data-resale model.
Can I share recipes with family who don’t have Plum? Yes — share individual recipes or whole cookbooks via email, SMS, WhatsApp, or AirDrop, and sync across your family’s devices.
Does Plum show nutrition information? Yes. Plum stores nutrition info for thousands of recipes and can estimate calories and macros from ingredients for recipes that don’t include it.
Can Plum suggest recipes based on what’s in my fridge? Yes. Search by the ingredients you have on hand to get ideas and reduce food waste.
